Dr Aidan McKiernan - Clinical Psychologist Specialising in Medico-legal PTSD Assessments

Aidan is Owner at Dr A McKiernan Psychological Consultancy, Principal Clinical Psychologist at LauraLynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice and Adjunct Professor at the School of Psychology UCD.

He graduated with an honours degree in psychology from UCD in 2003 and was awarded a PhD in psycho-oncology by UCD in 2008. In 2011 he was awarded a PhD in clinical psychology by University of Limerick.

He has experience of working in corporate, healthcare, military and educational settings across Ireland.

He is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), former council member of PSI and former Chairperson of the PSI Division of Clinical Psychology. 

He has authored over 50 papers and presentations in the field of psychology and lectures on third level postgraduate programmes at the National University of Ireland and Trinity College.  He is an Adjunct Professor at UCD School of Psychology. He is one of three recipients of the Rita Keville Fellowship from Trinity College Dublin.
