Children and young people
I assess children and adolescents of all ages following accidents, historical abuse and medical events, and I report on the psychological impact on the child and on the family.
How a child assessment runs
A parent or guardian joins the video interview. Younger children are assessed largely through the parent's account, observation and age-appropriate questionnaires, with the child's own account taken where they are able to give one. Older children and adolescents are interviewed directly, with a parent present. The report covers the impact on the child's mood, behaviour, sleep, schooling, friendships and family life, together with prognosis and treatment recommendations.
Referral, fee and turnaround
As for adults: emailed referral from a solicitor or GP, online questionnaires, a secure video interview and a report about one week later. Fixed fee, quoted on enquiry. I do not take maternity, obstetric or birth-related cases, and my practice is confined to civil matters. See For solicitors and For GPs.
